Giving Tuesday 2023 + Our Commitment to Social Impact

Giving Tuesday is a shining opportunity for individuals and organizations to come together and make a meaningful impact on their communities and the world at large. For Living Proof, Giving Tuesday isn’t just a one-day event — it’s a year-round commitment to creating positive change.

In 2023, we had the honor of supporting a wide variety of initiatives and were able to make an impact at both a grassroots level and a larger scale by partnering with organizations like MIT Solve(ED) and 1% for the Planet.

Our 2023 partnership recap

MIT Solve(ED)

In the spirit of solving for sustainable and innovative resources, Living Proof provided an equitable grant to all winners of the 2023 Solve(ED) Challenge cycle. This funding directly supports the youth teams who are working on solutions in various areas of impact — such as climate, economic prosperity, health, learning, and Indigenous communities.

MIT Solve is a global marketplace for social impact, working to solve real-world problems through innovation and community building. Solve(ED) is the youth arm of the program, supporting innovators 24 years old and younger.

Alongside our work with MIT Solve(ED), Living Proof’s very own CEO, Zach Rieken, joined MIT’s Challenge Leadership Group (a group of leaders tasked with selecting and supporting the solutions during MIT Solve’s program term) this year, thus ensuring continued support for impactful change.

Back to School Amazon Teacher Wishlists

Using the power of social media and influencer connectivity, Living Proof fulfilled Back to School Amazon wishlists. Through an Instagram call-to-action, we asked Title 1 teachers to submit their wishlists for STEM-related projects. Historically, Title 1 schools have high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income households.

DonorsChoose

To help ensure children from low-income areas and households have unimpeded access to the tools and experiences needed for a comprehensive and well-rounded education, the Purpose Task Force at Living Proof partnered with DonorChoose.

The team selected ten teachers’ classroom projects within the STEM space. All Living Proof employees had the opportunity to vote for their preferred project and help bring these projects to life.

Kode with Klossy

The proof is in our passion for helping others — Living Proof teamed up with Kode with Klossy, a coding camp for youths aged 13-18, to host their Summer ’23 Camp at our Boston HQ.

Kode with Klossy’s mission is to create learning experiences and opportunities for young women and gender-expansive youth. These programs ignite a spark that fuels scholars’ agency to pursue their passions in a tech-driven world. In addition to hosting Kode with Klossy’s 30 scholars and a 4-person instructional team for the week, we gifted products in support of the group’s collaborative work and productivity.

1% for the Planet

We’re dedicated to decreasing the use of virgin plastic as a step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability. Our eco-friendly Liter Pouch Refills deliver 4x the product while using 80% less plastic.

During Earth Month, Living Proof donated 10% of pouch purchases on LivingProof.com to 1% for the Planet. 1% of the Planet funds various environmental organizations, collectively working to solve global environmental challenges.

At Living Proof, we work hard to exemplify our dedication to social responsibility and innovation. In supporting initiatives such as MIT Solve(ED), Kode with Klossy, and 1% for the Planet, we’re not just providing financial means to organizations that need it most, but we’re also investing in future innovators, in turn igniting a spirit of innovation, education, and environmental stewardship.
