Why Do You Go to Salons?

salon1For some, the beauty salon is just a place to get your hair cut. For others, it’s heaven. Some women view a trip to the salon as therapy—after a long week at work, what better way to treat yourself then letting someone else pamper you for once?

So we want to know, why do you go to a salon? What’s your favorite part of the salon experience?

I go to Van Michael in Buckhead and I also take my teenage daughter there. They have cut and color specialist so I rarely get both done on the same day. When I get a haircut I usually arrange it so my daughter and I go together. It is an hour to the salon and another coming back so we make a day of it and go out to eat at Whole Foods afterwards. It is a bonding day for us. At Van Michael they focus on making sure you love your hair when you leave and you get whatever you want and ask for in the style…. big curls, poker straight, spirals, you name it. They even touch up our makeup so we leave feeling beautiful. I go to that salon and I take my daughter there because it is tough being a woman and dealing with all the issues of self image. I like having a team of people who really care not just about how my hair looks but how I feel about it.
