working otuEveryone has a bad hair day once in awhile but then there are those days where our hair is perfect; we walk around pretending we’re in a shampoo commercial. However, the thought of working out on those days can dampen your mood. With the No Frizz Restyling Spray, you’ll no longer have to worry about the post-workout hair horror show!

The Problem: You’ve decided to start working out during your lunch break. Unfortunately, you only have an hour to exercise, shower and get back to your desk.

The Solution: First, be sure to keep your hair in a high bun or ponytail and away from your face and neck. Then, be sure to keep hair as dry as possible by using a shower cap during your shower. Finally apply No Frizz Restyling Spray to freshen up and take any kinks out of your hair from head bands or ties. Spritz lightly focusing on the hairline and the area that looks bent. Run a flat iron through or pass a blow dryer over these areas for 5-7 minutes. If your hair is curly, simply apply all over and scrunch to revive and de-frizz.

Your co-workers and friends won’t even guess you were away working out. Try it out and let us know what you think!

How does this work for Afro American hair. Please don’t say it work if it does not, just to make a buck. We want something that really work, not lies.

Hi Jackie, we have gotten rave reviews from customers of all ethnicities. As a gross generalization, African American hair tends to be on the dryer side, so we would typically suggest that you use one of our treatments for thick to coarse hair. These two products have the strongest level of conditioning, so they’re perfect for a little extra moisture. If you like to define your style with a bit of hold, you’ll want to use our wave, curl styling treatment. If you prefer a softer look and feel, you’ll want to use our straight styling treatment. Let us know how it goes!

Following on from Jackie’s question: I am mixed race with relaxed hair and I use straighteners. As I’m in my 40s, it’s not as thick as it use to be but does frizz if the weather’s too hot or humid. What product would be best for me to keep it straight? Thanks.

As a gross generalization, ethnic hair tends to be on the dryer side, so we would suggest using the straight styling treatment. The difference between our products as you bump up the line lies within the conditioning components. Our cream has light conditioners and our treatment has stronger conditioners. Either way, you’ll be able to take advantage of our anti-frizz breakthrough, PolyfluoroEster.

i love your products but haven’t used the restyling spray – will that work on African American hair as well – since there aren’t different weights of the product?

  • The Living Proof Team

Great question, Lisa! Our Restyling Spray can be great for women of all ethnicities. It has very light conditioners, and offers a small amount of control for styling dry hair. If you restyle your hair daily, whether it be for corkscrew curls or a straight & smooth look, the Restyling Spray is perfect. If you comb your hair out however, leaving it in its natural “afro,” you probably don’t need to use any product to help with this style.
