This side-swept look takes a low pony to the next level with romantic curls and a surprisingly simple technique you’ll want to add to your styling rotation. Brides, bridesmaids, and guests, consider your hair covered.
Step 1: Tease the top section of your hair working in small sections. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect, you’ll smooth it over in the next step.
Step 2: Flip back teased hair and create a deep side part. Comb all of your hair to your right side.
Step 3: Prep your hair by spraying Flex all over. This working hairspray will give heat protection and light hold for the waves you’re about to create.
Step 4: Use a 1” curling wand to create loose, romantic waves focusing on the midshaft down. You can do this in sections or all at once.
Step 5: Grab a section of hair near your left ear and twist. Pull it around your head and pin in the back.
Step 6: Grab a section of hair on the right side and push the hair up to create a textured “nest” near your ear. Pin it in place with a bobby pin (we like to spray ours with Flex first for extra grip). Repeat this step a few times with small sections. There’s no magic number to how many times to do this—it will depend on how thick your hair is, and how big you want your “nest” to be.
Step 7: Grab a piece of hair from the right side of your head, twist it (tip: twist counter-clockwise) and pin it at the nape of your neck. Finish with Flex for extra hold.
