Scrolling through your Instagram feed, it’s safe to assume that bloggers have perfect hair all.the.time. But without the filter, hey!, they’re just like us. We invited five of them to spill their hair challenges and get a personalized product regimen from stylist (and Jennifer Aniston’s hairdresser) Chris McMillan.
First up was Bri Emery of DesignLoveFest. Bri has bleached, damaged hair, but doesn’t like to spend a lot of time on her hair. Chris prescribed the entire Restore line to get her strands back to a healthy state so that her heat tools don’t have to work so hard. Bri’s look is a little more tousled and imperfect, so Chris threw Instant Texture into the mix to create an “I swear I’m low-maintenance” look (trust us, you’ll have everyone fooled). Last but not least, Dry Shampoo which is an absolute essential for those days where you just don’t feel like washing your hair.
Next was the beautiful and spunky Sazan. She has naturally curly hair, but likes to switch up her look often and wear it straight. To help her achieve this sleek look, Chris sent Sazan home with products from the Perfect hair Day line and Style Lab. He instructed Sazan to apply Prime and PhD 5-in-1 on damp before blowdrying. Then she should spray Straight and whip out her flat iron. And voila, you have a sleek, straight look. To keep her hair healthy, apply Nightcap before bed to wake up with hair that’s softer and smoother.
Mimi G. got her turn in the chair with Chris. She lamented that her curls wouldn’t fully, well, curl. So her perfect product mix was a no-brainer. Chris prescribed the entire Curl line to compliment her short, curly style and bring out more of her curl pattern. Her results? Flawless, bouncy curls.
Keiko Lynn is a seriously creative beauty junkie with big hair dreams. She put Chris to the test to see if he could get her thin strands to look voluminous. Her results did not disappoint. Chris used the Full line on Keiko to make her thin hair look thick. He then tousled with Instant Texture to give her style some movement. Before he sent Keiko home, Chris taught her a trick to tease her hair with Flex shaping hairspray. Can you say: Big hair, don’t care?
Cara of Maskcara wears her locks long. Her main challenge was that she changes her color often, so her hair was a bit damaged. Cara wanted to keep her hair healthy and frizz free without having to cut it all off and start from scratch. He started by washing and conditioning Cara’s hair with the No Frizz line to create a healthy base. He combined No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream and Satin hair serum and applied it to her damp hair to achieve super shiny locks. The next step was to blow her hair out with a round brush and seal the deal with Flex. Chris advised Cara to apply Nightcap a few nights a week before bed to keep her healthy hair looking it’s best.
