It’s New Year’s Eve and you’re probably getting ready to go out and celebrate, but are you worried that you’ll wake up in the first morning of 2010 looking like you’ve been partying every night of the last decade? Depending on when (and where) you wake up, it’s good to know some tricks to put you back in tip-top form without all your resources nearby.
When you go dancing, you overheat your body which causes you to sweat more. Couple that with the fact that alcohol stimulates your sweat glands and you can bet that your hair will definitely be damp by the end of the night (and it will most likely dry squashed against a pillow). Not exactly a pleasant sight.
The great thing about Living Proof No Frizz shampoo and conditioner is that it repels dirt particles so you won’t wake up the next morning feeling as if you’re hair is a complete mess. If you used one of the stylers, you can reignite your look with a couple of easy steps.
- Rehydrate! Before you actually touch your hair or a comb, it’s important to remember that your body needs all that water it just lost. You’ll feel more refreshed and thus look more refreshed after some H2O replenishment.
- Flip your head over and tousle your roots and the rest of your hair with your fingers. When you flip your head back up, twist the ends around your fingertips to give it a more finished look. You’ll have instant volume and body in a matter of minutes.
- Updos actually work better with hair that wasn’t just cleaned. They’re easier to manage and have more texture. Ponytails are also another good option. If you have bangs that don’t look as perfect as they did the night before, pull them back and secure it with a bobby pin.
What if you didn’t use a lightweight styler from Living Proof and used a combination of hairspray, mousse, gel, and/or pomade instead? Your hair might not be as clean as it was the day before but it doesn’t mean you’ll have to step out into the streets looking a mess.
A lot of the steps just mentioned will still work but it might be best to splash a little bit of water through your hair to reactivate the hold of those other stylers. If you quickly blow-dry your hair, it can also reactivate the products you put in the night before.
Dry shampoos are another option to clean your hair without water. If you don’t have dry shampoo handy, sprinkle a little bit of baby powder on your roots. Rub it in so it can absorb the oils and then comb it out.
Also, don’t be afraid of using men’s products in your hair. They were designed to have a stronger hold so it typically works the same. The big difference is that they are not as gentle to color-treated hair as women’s products.
So go out and party like it’s the end of 2009 and don’t worry about the morning after! Happy New Year from all of us at Living Proof! ![]()
